Trashkitchens was organized by Transfodesign and was a paralel activity within BCN Design Festival. The venue of the event was El Colectivo Bajel, located in the wider center of Barcelona. During two consecutive days (15th and 16th of October 2011), five teams took the challenge to create mobile kitchens out of up-cycled materials. Among the professionals we had the pleasure to host System Design Studio, La Palanca Lab y Liken Studio, as well as two groups of students from ELISAVA Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona led by Jose F López-Aguilar y Alain Moreno.

Our transfofriends and design lovers could follow the construction process during the two days and see the completed trashkitchens and in action during the public exhibition on 18th October 2011. The event was sponsored by Heineken Spain and was in collaboration with ELISAVA Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona. The event had huge interest with media coverage from more than 20 online magazines, blogs and radios, hundreds of shares and likes on the social media and more than 150 visitors on the closing night.
